Welcome to Weekly Topic Saturdays!
Hello all, I pray that your week was filled with joy and love. Welcome back to those who have been with me here at A Golden Dream. For my first-timers, a great big hello there, if you haven't already please check out my previous posts when you get a chance.
Please don't hesitate to join the conversation, there are no right or wrong answers or questions. I'm not proclaiming to know everything, I am simply just discussing and picking topics on things that I personally have gone through and that I know would help someone.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
2 Corinthians 5:17
Whew, y’all we made it. 2021 is FINALLY here. I know I can speak for myself and many others that I am so glad to see 2020 finally leave. Last year was a year of many ups and downs. It was so jammed packed with events that I was on the edge of my seat dreading what was going to be coming next. I saw so many memes and social media posts talking about what level of Jumanji we were on next. Thankfully God is the only one who can wipe the slate clean and give us the peace that I know many have been striving and praying for. Seeing the New Year come, brings a whole new meaning to out with the old and in with the new.
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
Romans 8:18
Some of us are still holding on to past hurt and pain, we can’t seem to shake it and we can’t seem to heal the wound. We have to realize that the longer we hold onto it the longer it is going to stay open, and bleed. Let this year 2021, be the year that you make the conscious decision to let it go. Those wounds are keeping you from greatness, they are keeping you from being able to move forward, they are keeping you from your happiness. Let it go, give it over to God, and you will see that it won’t even be worth comparing to the Glory and the grace and the blessings that God has planned for us.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
Isaiah 43:19
I know that right now you are probably reading this and thinking that we are still in the midst of the chaos. Nothing has changed. People are still dying, the virus is still running rampant, and racial injustice is still at an all-time high. I challenge you to change your mindset for this year. Let us start out with a renewed mind and renewed strength. Let tomorrow worry about itself.
What we set our mind to is what our focus is on. The bible tells us that our present sufferings are not worth comparing to the glory that is coming our way. We have to start anew. We have to take the hand that we have been dealt with and use it to our advantage. God is seeing what we can do with what he gave us. Every moment that we have here on earth is a precious one that should be used for the glory and the benefit of God.
Every day that we wake up, every obstacle that we make it over, every close call that we make it past is God giving us another chance to do what he has called for us to do. Last year The Temperature Was Hot, this year in 2021 What Is Your Response? We are Not Meant To Be Broken, we have to change our mindset and our perspective to overcome. With everyone working together nothing is impossible especially when God is in the midst. Yes we may be still in the midst of a pandemic but we have the power to change it, yes there are still racial injustices going on, we have the power to change that too.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11
In 2021 God has plans for us. He knows what we are capable of, and he knows what our truest potential is. He is waiting for us to come to him and ask him what to do next. God wants us to take this life we have been given and make the absolute most out of it. He wants to see us do well each and every moment of each and every day. So it is important that as we embark on this new journey for 2021 that we don’t lose sight of him. We don’t lose sight of the goals that he has set out for us to accomplish. Match your will to his and allow him to work within you, and through you and he will fulfill every last one of your needs, wishes, and desires. God knows what our future will look like and he wants you to experience it the way he intended for you too.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:30-31
Don’t get me wrong, there will be times in 2021 where we will get tired, where we will be exhausted, where we will fall and will need help to get back up. There will be times where we are overwhelmed and will be trying to carry too much. This is the time where we need to depend on God and let him carry the load. We need to allow him to recharge and renew us when the situations get rough, and we become weary. We cannot serve God or be there for others if we are depleted ourselves.
The year 2021, can be your year. Remember to pray, energize yourself, Give Yourself Credit, Set Boundaries, set goals, go on a Journey of Self-Discovery, Practice Mindfulness, show love, support, and empathy. Above all remember to thank God every day because without him nothing is possible.
Questions To Consider:
What am I looking forward to in 2021?
What goals am I going to strive for?
What am I going to leave behind in 2020 that would make my perspective in 2021 change for the better?
What can I do personally within myself to bring forth a new attitude and/or behavior? My Temper? Practice Active Listening? My Communication perhaps?
With Love, I hope and pray that this year brings everyone peace, love, and healing. I pray that we continue to work on ourselves and practice kindness with the help of God’s guidance and grace.
~Just Breathe...A Golden Dream~
Amen.
