Motivational Mondays #53: A Time of Reflection

This Journey Has Been a Good One!

Motivational Monday's topic is: A Time of Reflection

Hey, my Golden Dreamers, this year-long journey that we have been on has been an amazing one full of inspiration, eye-opening topics, and perspective-changing conversations. God has truly used this platform to bring us all together as one big family to glorify His name and lift Him up.

This blog has taught me so much about myself and so much about the Bible. First and foremost if you didn't know, God’s Word is truly UNMATCHED!!!! As I was writing some of these posts I would come across various scriptures in the bible and read them and was like “dang, God won’t playing no games, whatsoever. LOL!!! Like whew, let me get myself together, I do not want to be on the receiving end of that!”

All jokes aside, I wanted to take this time to reflect on what I have learned throughout this journey, my favorite post to write, and the hardest post to write. Let’s dive in!

Most Challenging Post

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.

Proverbs 12:15

Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.

Proverb 11:14

When I created A Golden Dream, I was very nervous and anxious about writing these posts because I was learning as I was going. I had no idea if I was explaining what God said in his Word properly or even if I was understanding the message in the scripture itself. The last thing that I wanted to do was lead someone astray by saying the wrong thing. I reached out to my Pastor and First Lady of my church and asked for some much-needed guidance. I didn’t want to be on here telling you guys any ole thing. I would have them read my posts and give me some constructive criticism before I put it out there. For those who know me, I like receiving constructive criticism because I know that it is only to help me better myself.

Out of all the posts for A Golden Dream’s Blog, there were quite a few challenging posts for me to write because of the topic and how consuming it is in the bible. My most challenging post to write were Weekly Topic Saturday’s #35: A Living Sacrifice, Weekly Topic Saturday’s #17: Do You Have I.F. Faith, and Weekly Topic Saturday’s #49: Help My Unbelief!

When I write these posts I do a lot of research, and meditation on the Word beforehand. When writing Weekly Topic Saturdays #35: A Living Sacrifice, I didn’t know or even fully understand what it meant to be a living sacrifice for God. Through the process of writing, I learned that being a living sacrifice means giving up our worldly desires and setting our sights on the Lord. It means making the necessary changes to be what God has called us to be. We have to remember that we are not of this world but rather we are temporarily living in it. Weekly Topic post #17: Do You Have I.F. Faith, hit me the same way. Faith is something that takes time to acquire, it is founded on and built off trust. I had a hard time doing both. I wanted to grow my faith but I didn’t know how to do so effectively. So many of us, myself included, say that we have faith but in the end, we are all just talk. If we truly had faith like we said we did we wouldn’t be as stressed out and worried as we are now! OUCH! I know, I hurt my own toes too with that one!

The Weekly Topic Saturdays #49: Help My Unbelief, stemmed from a passage I read in the bible of a man whose child was sick and he pleaded with Jesus to help his unbelief. When I first read this passage, I was so interested in how the story would pan out. I wanted to know what unbelief was and how we could turn it into believing. So many of us have so many doubts that we question everything and we tend to have unbelief where we shouldn’t. In that post, I give you a backstory of what happened and steps on how to eliminate your unbelief. If you haven’t had a chance already to read these posts, I encourage you to click the links and check them out. You may be surprised by the revelations that you have, I know that I was!

Most Favorite Post

I love all of A Golden Dream’s posts because they all have Golden Nuggets of information that you can take away from them. I had a lot of posts that were my favorite to write and it was super hard to narrow them down to pick just a few. These are just a few of my favorites Motivational Monday’s #04: Attributes of God, Weekly Topic Saturday’s #12: Where Does Your Help Come From, Motivational Monday’s #23: Holy Clap Backs, and Weekly Topic Saturday's #26: God’s Holy Tab.

I chose to highlight Motivational Mondays #04: Attributes of God, Weekly Topic Saturday #12: Where Does Your Help Come From, and Weekly Topic Saturday's #26: God’s Holy Tab, because they described who God is, what he does, and what he has already done. I always knew that God went by many things and that he wore many hats such as Alpha, Omega, Father, Most High, Lord, and so on and I wanted to share that with you guys. I knew that many may not know that he goes by several names and so I wanted to use Attributes of God to shine a light on some of his names and why he is called them. I wanted to shine some light on where we should be looking when times get rough and when we are unsure of where we should be turning to in our time of need. Our help comes from above. God is always watching, always listening, and is always there. God has already paid for everything we will ever need. When we decide to take our refuge in Him we become safe in his arms and he picks up our tab. He takes care of it all, all he asks for us to do is to share our experience with others so that they too can come and be in his arms as well.

I loved Weekly Topic Saturdays #26: Holy Clap Backs because the enemy can and will use anything to beat us down. The enemy likes to get inside the mind and make you feel like there is something wrong with you. He likes to create chaos and mayhem so we have to be prepared for the attack. Holy Clap Backs can give you some great examples of things you can use against the adversary when he comes lurking. I encourage you to give these posts a read if you haven’t checked them out already!

Golden Honorable Mentions:

Final Thoughts on The Year

With A Golden Dream’s birthday tomorrow and this year coming to a close I want to first say a big THANK YOU and give you all a huge virtual church hug. Thank you to each and every one of you for sticking with me, reading, and engaging with me during this entire journey. I wanted to create a safe, uplifting, inspiring, and spiritual place where we all can come together and fellowship together in God’s Word. Our journey together is just getting started and, I don’t know about you but, I cannot wait to see what this next year has in store for us along the way.

**I hope everyone has a safe and blessed week and I will see you all on Saturday for our Weekly Topic Saturdays**

~Just Breathe...A Golden Dream~

Amen.
