Motivational Mondays #47: Check Your Blindspot

Welcome to Motivational Mondays!

First things first, what is Motivational Mondays?

Just like it sounds, to motivate, to empower, and to encourage you on the first day of a fresh week. I don't know about you but Mondays can be a drag for me, so sometimes words of encouragement and positivity are helpful to start my day off right.

Motivational Monday's topic is:

Check Your Blind spot

When I was first learning how to drive the scariest part of driving for me was my blindspot. It wasn’t driving a car itself; it was simply not being able to see anything from my vantage point. Once I had years of experience under my belt it became easier and less terrifying. Over the years I have gotten more comfortable with driving and being able multitask to use elements of the car like the rear view mirror, and the side-view mirrors to my advantage. Checking my blindspot became an easy task that I was not as nervous about anymore. I had trust in my years of experience to know that I could successfully check my blindspot without any issues. Making me less vulnerable to hitting someone else or someone else hitting me.

Having blind spots makes you vulnerable to car accidents as well as hitting objects or even worse people. We don't want that right! No! So I pose a question.

Can followers of Christ be subjected to blind spots?

What does that mean?

What Are Spiritual Blind spots?

-Spiritual blind spots are things that make you “Miss The Mark” or an area(s) in your life that doesn’t allow you to reach your fullest potential to overcome obstacles.

Having blind spots can leave you vulnerable to the enemy, just like God the enemy knows your weaknesses. The thing is, God uses your weaknesses as well as the good in you to do good works. It is all a part of HIS divine plan. The enemy on the other hand uses your weakness against you to create more corruption, confusion, and ultimately fall deeper in sin.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28

Blind spots can be:

  • Your Anger

  • Jealousy

  • Your Emotions

  • Greed for materialistic things/ possessions

  • Hatred

  • Gluttony

  • Your Pride/ Haughtiness

  • Laziness

  • Unbelief

Ask Yourself,

What Are Some of My Blind spots?

What Can Help?

The Holy Spirit is our guide, use it!

  1. The bible tells us that the holy spirit leads us into truth (John 16:13) Meaning we have to lean and stand on the truth because walking with the Lord involves us to be the truth. Be like Christ because we are in HIS image. God is not a man that shall lie, neither should we. Like I said before, if you're going to walk with Christ we have to come correct.

  2. In order for us to know what our spiritual blind spots are we have to ask God to expose them to us and ask for the Holy Spirit to teach us and correct us in working them out. (John 14:26)

Take refuge to the Holy Spirit:

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

Romans 8:26

Understand what the will of the Lord is. Be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things.

Ephesians 5:19

For all who are led by God’s Spirit are God’s children.

Romans 8:14
