Welcome to Motivational Mondays!
First things first, what is Motivational Mondays?
Just like it sounds, to motivate, to empower, and to encourage you on the first day of a fresh week. I don't know about you but Mondays can be a drag for me, so sometimes words of encouragement and positivity are helpful to start my day off right.
Motivational Monday's topic is:
Scriptures I Keep Close
Hey my Golden Dreamers, we are back at it again with some more scriptures that I hold dear to me. Time stops for no one and there are times where life may be uncertain. It is in those times that we need God the most. I think that for a lot of us when times get hard we think that we can handle things on our own, or we try to take the situations into our own hands. We tend to leave God out of the situation and we forget his attributes.
It's these moments where we should cling to God and ask him for his guidance, mercy, grace, and clarity. Below are some scriptures that I hold close when I am going through a period of uncertainty. Let’s dive in!
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9
I like this scripture because in it God is telling us that we need to remain strong and courageous when there is uncertainty, or when it is scary. The coronavirus pandemic is a great example of this. Because it is so new and it has brought so much uncertainty and has caused so many to fall on hard times, many have forgotten to turn to God and pray to him. God is with us at all times he wants us to know that he is always in control no matter the situation. Remember he has already seen what the ending will be. He already knows what each moment of our life will look like. Let go and let God take over!
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
John 14:27
So often we are so worried about what tomorrow may bring or what might happen in the future that we become stressed and anxious over the inevitable. Jesus tells us that we should live in peace. Yes! In this life, we are 100% guaranteed to have some rough times both individually and as a whole but we should not let it overcome our life. We shouldn’t trouble ourselves, but rather turn it over to God and allow him to work on our behalf. I promise you there is nothing too big or too trivial for our God to handle. So live in peace.
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
There are some people that enjoy tearing others down to make themselves feel better. I am here to let you know that God does not work in that fashion. God wants us to build each other up. He mentions countless times in the bible that we must support our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ by helping them when they are in need especially when we have the means to do so. Too often we see others struggling and because no one else is helping we don’t want to either. It’s time to Break The Cycle and reach out. Can you imagine if you were the one who was struggling back in the day and Jesus saw you yet he kept on walking. You would be shook! Jesus doesn’t discriminate and neither should we. It shouldn’t matter what the person looks like, or is in need of!
Here are some more honorable
mentions to always remember
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
1 Timothy 2:3-4
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
1 Peter 2:9
For God so loved that world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Luke 12:7
