Motivational Mondays #24: Purpose in Pain

Welcome to Motivational Mondays!

First things first, what is Motivational Mondays?

Just like it sounds, to motivate, to empower, and to encourage you on the first day of a fresh week. I don't know about you but Mondays can be a drag for me, so sometimes words of encouragement and positivity are helpful to start my day off right.

Motivational Monday's topic is: Purpose In Pain

It took me years to realize that everything has a purpose, that things and situations happen in various ways on purpose. If I’m being honest, I was listening to Fantasia’s song Lose To Win, a couple of years ago this song really spoke to me. There’s a line in the song that says, “Sometimes you gotta lose to win again.” Even though she was referring to a bad relationship and wanting to leave it. This line still made me reflect on my life and situations that I went through where I came out victorious and better off in the end.

In the midst of your situations sometimes you have to lose everything that you counted on just to gain a win in the end. That it served you better to lose it all so that you can realize that you actually won.

It’s so hard to go through situations and not question God. In Weekly Topic Saturdays #23: Stop Asking God Why and Ask Him What we touched on what it looks like when you're going through trials, and tribulations, meanwhile upholding a conversation with God. We need to be intentional in asking God what he is trying to get us to see? What can I do to pass this test? Instead of the woe is me mentality. We have to learn that each time we are going through a storm there is purpose in it, ALWAYS. The Bible explains that in tough situations it builds our perseverance, faith, and strength. In a season of difficulty, these tests refine us and strengthen our faith in God; it’s meant to see if we actually learned from our previous experiences from before.

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

1 Peter 5: 10

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

1 Corinthians 4: 17

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33

What I love about all of these scriptures is that Jesus tells you right out the gate that you will have troubles. He states that we must push through the discomfort as he did, and to be steadfast and to stay firm in the midst of it all. Then he continues and says, because I too went through it and overcame the world, you can too!

In your current circumstances, have you given in?

What can I do in this season of momentary trouble that would be beneficial in my circumstances and that would be pleasing to God?

Today, I encourage you to trust God no matter what you're going through, to fully hold and lean on God. We are in the midst of a global pandemic and people are coming and going every day, but focus on where your help comes from like we discussed in Weekly Topic Saturday #12: Where Does Your Help Come From. God said to persevere through it all, that this too shall pass. This is a season of momentary troubles. It’s all temporary. A brief period. So push through it. We got this!

Remember all trials and tribulations ALL have Expirations!

I got the victory, the victory

Every situation I face I win

I got the victory, the victory

And everything works for my good in the end

I got the victory, the victory

-Victory by Tye Tribbett & G.A

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

James 1:12

**I hope everyone has a safe and blessed week and I will see you all on Saturday for our Weekly Topic Saturdays**

~Just Breathe...A Golden Dream~

Amen.
