Welcome to Motivational Mondays!
First things first, what is Motivational Mondays?
Just like it sounds, to motivate, to empower, and to encourage you on the first day of a fresh week. I don't know about you but Mondays can be a drag for me, so sometimes words of encouragement and positivity are helpful to start my day off right.

Motivational Monday's Topic Is: Top 5 Bible Scriptures to Keep Close. It's important that as we go through life we are able to grow closer to God. There are times where we may feel like the road we are traveling on looks a little tough or we feel like we are all alone. God is always with us, and he tells us in the bible that we should have the scripture in our hearts. Life isn't easy, it is full of disappointment and heartaches.
It is essential that we stay encouraged and connected by reading the scripture so that when situations do arise we know where our help comes from. For those that did not know where our help comes from, it comes from the Lord.
I want to take this time to share with you all some encouraging scriptures that have helped me along the way when I am going through. If any of these scriptures have helped you please don’t hesitate to share, also let me know what are your favorite scriptures.
1. "I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me"
Philippians 4:13
I love this one, it's short but it's so profound. It’s telling me that in any and every situation that comes my way, I can do all things. When it gets too hard to bear, we must remember that God doesn't put on me more than I can handle and that I can do all things through Christ. With him, and only him I can do it; not man, not my parents, or siblings, but with Christ.
2. "For I know the plans I have for you" declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11
When I was trying to figure out what my purpose was, I thought about everything that I had done thus far, and I reverted back to this scripture. It was assuring me that only God knows my plans, I just have to trust these plans according to God's purpose for my life. Trusting and knowing that God's got me covered.
3. For everything, absolutely everything above and below, visible and invisible.... everything got started in him and finds its propose in him"
Colossians 1:16
This scripture just reminds us that God is the creator of all things, ALL things. Just like it states; seen and unseen, everything. It tells us that he holds all power in his hands and that everything serves a purpose, no matter, big or small.
4. Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Colossians 3:12
I hold this scripture close to my heart because of the fact that it tells us how we are supposed to treat others. To show kindness, and compassion towards others in spite of the other person's response. It's always difficult...no scratch that, it's a different kind of self-control when you have to show kindness to people who do you wrong. It's hard, but God pays attention to how we respond to situations because that shows our maturity and growth. It's hard but obedience is better than sacrifice.
5. Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can anyone of you by worrying add a single hour to your life.
Matthew 6:26-27
This scripture is so essential for daily life. God is telling us that there is no need to be stingy or worry about the material things because when you put your trust, faith, and when you rely on the Lord he will always provide. The scripture also asks a very powerful and profound question, “ Can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” It is a question that will really make you think. No matter how much worrying you do or how much anxiety you have you cannot extend your life by a single moment so why waste time doing it. There is no benefit in it.
