Motivational Mondays #08: Hindsight Being 20/20

Welcome to Motivational Mondays!

First things first, what is Motivational Mondays? Just like it sounds, to motivate, to empower, and to encourage you on the first day of a fresh week. I don't know about you but Mondays can be a drag for me, so sometimes words of encouragement and positivity are helpful to start my day off right.

Motivational Mondays #08: Hindsight Being 20/20

Growing up I always heard the saying hindsight is 20/20. By a show of comments, how many of you experience those moments of clarity? ………...Anyone?

I know I do.

Hindsight by way of definition is the understanding of a situation or event only after it has happened or developed. It is like that “aha” moment or that “lightbulb” that goes off when things start to fall into place and the puzzle begins to become a complete picture.

These moments of knowledge started occurring for me when I was learning more about myself and evaluating different aspects of my life. I would begin to look back at past situations and I realized that in the midst of those past experiences, trying to figure out the “why,” seemed so impossible, super frustrating, very uncomfortable, and sometimes outright unfamiliar. When I was going through those situations it felt like I was stuck in my own suspense novel, left on a cliff hanger waiting to see what the outcome will be.

What I have learned as I have gotten older is that oftentimes it is not until the situation is over, the dust has settled, and in God’s own timing that everything becomes clear. In the times we live in, everyone wants an answer quick, fast, and in a hurry, or as I like to call it a microwave blessing, no one wants to go through the process of cooking from scratch. What we seem to forget is that our God doesn’t work like that. Sometimes God doesn’t always reveal what he is doing until he knows that you are ready for it. What I have noticed is that with God, “TIMING,” is EVERYTHING. He always reveals the answer at the perfect timing right when you need it instead of when you want it. That is hindsight. We have to remember that God’s timing is not our timing, he makes us wait as a means to ensure that HE and only HE gets the glory. There are no coincidences.

“Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.”

Psalm 27:14

How many of you are dealing with a situation or problem in your life right now and you can’t seem to find a solution? Either it seems unsure or you just need some kind of guidance in order to go through it? You are not alone in this, I can assure you!

My Advice to You Is:

  1. First...Just Breathe. Inhale, Exhale, and keep doing this until you get a sense of the present. Focus only on the present and nothing else. This takes some time to get used to doing, but practice at it because what you will find is that it’s essential. A very good friend of mine explained to me the importance of breathing and how sometimes we have to take it off autopilot and use our breathing to recenter and refocus ourselves before beginning on anything. Breathing will help you find some inner peace and clarity because it clears the mind. Pace yourself and give yourself credit. Just Breathe!

  2. Second… Cast ALL your cares to God. He is the only one who can bear all of it without getting weary. Cast it over! Once you do that then comes the revelation of hindsight. With God by your side, anything is possible.

**I hope everyone has a safe and blessed week and I will see you all on Saturday for our Weekly Topic Saturdays**

~Just Breathe...A Golden Dream~

Amen.
