Motivational Mondays #02: Speak Life In Everything You Do or Say

Welcome to Motivational Mondays!

First things first, what is Motivational Mondays? It's just like it sounds, to motivate, to empower, and to encourage you on the first day of a fresh week. I don't know about you but Mondays can be such a drag for me, I've noticed that sometimes hearing or seeing words of encouragement and positivity are helpful with starting my day off right.

So let's get into it!

Motivational Monday's Topic Is: Speak Life in Everything You Do or Say!

The vast majority of people have no idea of the strong power that words have. The tone in which you speak and the words that you use when communicating with others can leave a long-lasting negative or positive impact.

Nevertheless, If I was around children, I would never use profanity or say mean and hurtful things to them. Why do we as adults speak so negatively about ourselves or other people? Why do we mistreat others by doing hurtful and vindictive things?

Going back to the initial example of the children, did you know that the way you talk to a child can in more ways than one shape and echo in their existence, perspectives, worldviews, morals, and values throughout their lives; and can even shift their personality negatively or positively. It is important that as we navigate through this thing called life, that we be mindful of our words, paying close attention to what we speak and cast out.

Your Words Have Power!

If you're not careful you can unintentionally kill the confidence in the shaky soul of another person just by what you say. We must build up, not tear down; encourage, and not crush the spirit of our peers. The bible tells us, "Life and death are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." {Proverbs 18:21}

I pray that if you are in an environment that is negative, or in an environment that seems like there is no way out, remind yourself that trouble doesn't last always. You must SPEAK LIFE in dead situations. Who needs magic when you have the power of the tongue that can move mountains if used correctly in your possession.

QUICK STORYTIME:

A few years ago, I quit working at Forever 21 to become a professional full-time nanny. If you know me well enough I love children, and at the time I was getting paid twice as much as being a stock employee.

A month later, however, due to a change in demand, I was out of a job. To make ends meet and to pay rent, because bills do not stop for anybody, I began to donate plasma as a way to earn money for myself. After two months of donating I stumbled upon families that needed nannies and they would hire me on a part-time as-needed basis. It was still not a stable income but I was grateful to be at least doing something. There were some moments where I was beginning to get discouraged but something was telling me to put it in God's hands.

I desperately prayed to God, crying out, "Oh God, what am I going to do, I am short on my rent, my bills are piling up, and I am running out of food". I asked and pleaded to God to help me, to give me what I desired and what I needed to survive. After a couple of weeks of hopeless employment, I was offered a full- time position with a family. I was overjoyed that my prayers were answered and the Lord stepped in right on time. I stayed with this family for 6 months until they no longer needed my services. I was devastated and once again, I prayed and declared what I needed from God and knowing that he would have my back.

"Lord give me employment where I don't have to worry about money, employment that has longevity, one that can satisfy all my bills and needs" a spark of faith must have blossomed because, within a few hours of applying for new jobs, I got my blessing that I prayed for. Currently, I have been with this family for three years and my job is secure. Thank the Lord!

THE END

In the midst of uncertainty, frustration, hopelessness, trials of employment, I decided to speak life in my dead situation. I did not realize it when I was younger but now as I am growing in my faith and getting closer to God I know without question that prayer changes things around for our good. When you choose to make the conscious decision to step out on faith and meet God at 50% he will take care of the rest. EVERY TIME!

Always be MINDFUL of what you DO or SAY!

"Kind words are like honey-sweet to the soul and healthy for the body"

Proverbs 16: 24

Are you spreading life?
