Motivational Mondays #03: Top 5 Bible Scriptures to Keep Close (Part 1)

Welcome to Motivational Mondays!

First things first, what is Motivational Mondays? Just like it sounds, to motivate, to empower, and to encourage you on the first day of a fresh week. I don't know about you but Mondays can be a drag for me, so sometimes words of encouragement and positivity are helpful to start my day off right.

Motivational Monday's topic is: Top 5 Bible Scriptures to Keep Close

Within every season of our lives, we are guaranteed to experience some kind of disappointment or heartache. It is essential in those dark times that we stay encouraged by reading the scriptures so that when trouble arises we know where our help comes from. For those who don't know where our help comes from, it comes from the Lord.

I want to take this time to share with you some encouraging scriptures that have helped me along the way when I was going through. One thing that you should remember or take away from this post is that the Lord our God is always with you. That is a promise that he has made to us from the very beginning. You will never have to worry about him not being able to hear you when you call for him because he is omnipresent and is always listening and his love for us will never fail.

Let me know what are your favorite scriptures?

1."The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

Lamentations 3:22-23

When I think about this scripture, in particular, knowing that God's love is endless, gives me great comfort. To know that no matter what my downfalls and shortcomings are, God cares and has so much love for me that he forgives me of my mistakes and I know that he would do the same for you no matter what YOU are going through. I can lean on this scripture because when nobody else likes me, or when people are talking about me or dislike me for whatever reason, I know that without a shadow of a doubt I can always count on God to love me anyhow.

2. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

Deuteronomy 31:6

In the midst of trouble, God is telling his children to be strong, brave, and to fear not; for he will always be with us through our sorrow. What I love about this scripture is the overflowing encouragement that comes from his words. God reassures us that he will always be there to lead, comfort, and help us in any way; for his grace and mercy is sufficient in every aspect of our lives.

3. “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Romans 8:31

This is a scripture once again, that brings forth comfort in knowing that God is ALWAYS with us. That when we put our trust in him and follow him, we shall not fear anyone or anything. God is equipping us with confidence in Christ Jesus.

4. "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints"

Ephesians 6: 11, 14-18

This scripture is a staple piece in my life because above all things, as Christians, we must always practice putting on the Full Armor of God. My mother always told me that before you leave the house, do it, put on the armor. It is just as essential as grabbing your keys in the morning. I mentioned before that you needed "to practice", yes practice every day before stepping out into the world, or before going into various situations; until it becomes a habit.

5. "Casting all your anxieties on him because he cares for you"

1 Peter 5:7

I don't know about you, but I'm always worrying about every little thing. What I have learned over the years of growing closer to God is that it's a great feeling when you give it up to God and let him handle it. I've started saying, "Here you go Jesus because this mess is beyond me!!" It’s like being able to be a child again not having to worry about how it will get done because God, much like our parents did, will handle it making sure we have all we need. I realize that casting your cares and worries onto God is easier said than done, trust me, I know.

However, it's so true; worry, anxiety, and stress can do so much damage to one's mental and physical health. It’s not in God’s plan for us to suffer mentally, emotionally, or physically. God can and wants to take the weight of it all, he yearns to hear from you. He wants to hear all of your pains, and problems so cast them over. Freedom is calling, are you going to keep the Lord waiting, or are you going to pick up the phone and answer.

**I hope everyone has a safe and blessed week and I will see you all on Saturday for our Weekly Topic Saturdays**
